What are you going to do?
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will fulfill a challenging role within the dynamic development team in Utrecht. Your expertise is of great value in developing an advanced data and analytics platform for the Dutch energy market. You will work hands-on on expanding the data platform, with which you automatically collect, refine and analyze data to make it shine.
By combining domain knowledge, statistics and data science techniques you recognize patterns, trends and relationships in data. You implement end-to-end solutions for the (internal) customer, where you are responsible for the design and creation of, among other things, statistical and machine learning models that make a positive contribution to the energy transition. You also formulate and test hypotheses. In doing so, you never lose sight of the requirements of the stakeholders.
Your skills in the field of software and data development, together with your deep-rooted passion for data, will really come into their own in this role as Senior Data Scientist. In this role, you will become part of the Data & Analytics team. This team consists of Data Engineer(s) in addition to the Data Scientist.
Job requirements
Who are you?
- You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar);
- You have at least 5 years of work experience as a Data Scientist;
- You have extended experience with: data analysis, data modeling, machine learning, and data visualization;
- Excellent understanding of Python and/or PySpark, supplemented with other relevant data science tools/techniques;
- You have basic data engineering and core engineering skills (versioning, CI/CD, automated testing, scalability);
- Keen on working in a start-up environment or weary of big and slow organizations;
- Experience working in the energy sector is a big plus;
- Affinity with or interest in trading and willing to trade themselves possibly (high level of involvement to improve overall learning curve)
- Fluency in English and Dutch;
- Based in the randstad area (The Netherlands).
